began with a view finder on a picture - mark making with various instruments - bamboo dipping pen, standard dipping pen, brush - to represent part of the picture.
When happy with design - experimented with representing the design on the clay, making marks, manipulating - getting a feel for the material.
Very nice to work with, relaxing and satisfying - definitely needs more investigation.
Some ceramicist I have been looking at:
Aimee Fisher -
Beautiful curve and flow, intriguing to look at - as though it just came to rest in that position.
Alan Foxley
Great mix of textures - like stone age mark making - naive and simple but very effective and eyecatching.
Shaun Hall
Gorgeous lustre and shimmer - appears very tactile, can just imagine the sense of touch. Amazing mix of tones and colours - interesting glaze effects.
Ken Eastman -
Beautiful piece - intriguing form, gentle curves - wave like, enhanced by the soft, natural, nautical colouring. Impression of diving into a wave - rush of colour.
